[DailyPharm Reporter: Heung-Jun Jeong] The Seoul Pharmaceutical Association's health supplement expo, aimed at promoting the use of health supplements, garnered significant attention with 500 pharmacists in attendance.
The Seoul Pharmaceutical Association's Education Committee (Vice President Mi-Kyung Hwang, Director Hye-Sook Ahn, Chairs Hyo-Jin Kang and Ri-Hong Son) hosted the 'Seoul Pharm Academy Pharmacy-Exclusive Health Supplement Expo' on March 24, from 10 AM to 4 PM, at the association’s 4th-floor auditorium.
Approximately 500 pharmacists attended the event, showing significant interest in pharmacy-exclusive health supplements. Participating companies included the AGEs Society, Cellomax, Cellmed, and K-Therapeutics.
The expo was organized to give pharmacists direct access to health supplement products that are typically only available through specialized associations, providing a rare opportunity to view these products and obtain valuable information.
Attendees expressed satisfaction with the event, noting that they were able to see a variety of products in one place and receive detailed explanations—something not often possible at regular academic events. They also appreciated the chance to learn about new associations and products for the first time.
In the lounge area on the first floor, attendees showed further interest by watching video lectures on health supplements from the participating associations. At the conclusion of the event, 100 pharmacists were selected to receive small gifts through a raffle.
The Seoul Pharmaceutical Association will follow up the expo with a 12-week online course on pharmacy-exclusive health supplements, starting April 4, every Thursday evening at 8 PM. Pharmacists can register for the course through the association’s website until March 29, with a registration fee of 10,000 KRW (for the course materials).
President Young-Hee Kwon stated, "I hope that this expo marks the beginning of pharmacists becoming the main providers of health-related consultations, making these consultations a routine part of pharmacy services. I also look forward to pharmacists taking a leading role in the health supplement market."
Director Hye-Sook Ahn added, "I am grateful for the strong interest and participation in the first-ever pharmacy-exclusive health supplement expo, and I encourage members to continue showing interest in the upcoming online course."
